The 37th edition of the Almaden Valley Art and Wine Festival will take place on Sunday 15 September at the Almaden Lake Park, starting at 6pm.
The Almaden Valley Art & Wine Festival is presented by the Almaden Valley Women's Club and is supported in part by a Cultural Affairs grant from the city of San Jose.
This year's festival is expected to feature again a wide variety of artists, performers (still time to sign up by the way!) as well as wineries and micro-breweries from California. Kids will be welcome at the Children's Play area.
Get ready for one of the best festivals in Almaden Valley and San Jose. Have a wonderful summer in Almaden Valley in the interim!

Running Above The Influence in Almaden Valley | 8 June 2013

Almaden Valley welcome the first edition of "Running Above The Influence", a 5K and a 10K race which will respectively at 9 and 9.15am at the Almaden Lake Park and will take place along the Los Alamitos Creek Trail.
Teen Challenge International (the NorWestCal Nevada chapter) and Grocery Outlet Bargain Market are sponsors of this event designed to help families and teens fight the battle against addiction and life-controlling problems.
The event is open to all Almaden Valley walkers and runners of all ages. All participants will receive a race tee and a goodie bag. Beverage will be available at the finish line If you are interested in the race map, click here
Net proceeds from the race benefit the men, women, teens, children, and families who are winning the battle over addiction at Teen Challenge.
Almaden Valley Relay for Life " Fiesta of Hope" 2013 | 4-5 May 2013

The 2013 edition of the Almaden Valley Relay For Life is scheduled for 4-5 May 2013 and will take place at the usual location, i.e. Leland High School (6777 Camden Ave., San Jose 95120).
Like every year, the Almaden Valley Community is proud to contribute to the American Cancer Society and celebrate the fight of our loved ones who battled the disease.

To keep up with the Holidays Season spirit, Almaden Valley kids will be able enjoy the latest adaptation of "Aladdin and the Magic Lamp", the most famouss tale from "The 1001 Arabian Nights".
This show is brought to us by Fratello Marionettes (acclaimed duo of master puppeteers Kevin Menegus and Fred C. Riley III) at the Almaden Valley Library on Saturday 29 December at 2.30 pm.
The show will take place in the Community Room of the Almaden Valley Library Community Center.

The Almaden Valley Library Branch will host the acclaimed South Bay Guitar Society Duo composed of guitarists Ben Zussman and Jerry Snyder on Saturday 15 December 2012, starting at 2pm.

The Almaden Lions' Club Annual Blanket Drive has started! The Almaden Valley Club is collecting clean or new blankets for downtown San Jose Sacred Heart Community Services.
These free blankets will be donated to needy San Jose children and families. Almaden Super Lions already collected and delivered more than 1,000 blankets to Sacred Heart Community Services this year and targeting to donate more.
This is a wonderful chance for everyone to donate their spare blankets to people in need. You can drop off your blankets from 10am-2pm at the Almaden Valley Community Center located 6445 Camden Avenue, San Jose 95120.

Friends of the Almaden Valley Library will hold a used books and media sale with up to 50 tables on Saturday 3 November 2012. This event will benefit the Almaden Valley Branch Library.
Sale hours are 9am – 3pm. Prices start as low as $1 for hardcover books and 50 cents for paperbacks. CDs will be available for $1, DVD for $2 and audio books at low prices. Do not miss the $5 bag of books sale and half off all prices in the last hour of the event.
This is the ideal event for Almaden Valley younger and older readers, CD and DVD collectors and Almaden families looking to hang out inside on a fresh Saturday afternoon in the one place in Almaden Valley where everyone always finds something interesting to do.
6th Annual Harvest Festival in Almaden Valley | 27 October 2012

The 6th edition of the Almaden Annual Harvest Festival will take place at the Almaden Library Branch and Community Center on Saturday 27 October 2012, from 11am to 4pm.
The Almaden Valley Harvest Festival is the place where your kids will pick up the right pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch, get spooked in the Haunted House and will be entertained by the Holiday Story Times and Puppets Show (which starts in the library at 11:30 a.m. and will repeat at 2:30 p.m).
Children are encouraged to dress in their most creative outfits. Do not miss Conroy Cougar, the San José Public Library’s official mascot, who will walk around to meet and greet everyone.
Admission is free for all. The Almaden Valley Harvest Festival is funded partly by the Friends of the Almaden Valley Library.

This year's concert series in Almaden Valley will take place at Graystone Park (Corner of Mt. Carmel and Camden Ave) from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm every Thurdsay starting July 5, 2012.
The series kicks off with the Hitmen on July 5, followed by the Groove Kings on July 12. The Silicon Valley House Rockers will take the stage on July 19, and the summer series finale ends on July 26 with Sage.
The series is sponsored by Almaden Valley Senior Association, a non-profit organization that provides scholarships, leadership opportunities and a way to give back to the Almaden Community Center

Great news for Almaden Valley. Catch the Silicon Valley International Triathlon which will start at UVAS Reservoir from 7am (Swim). The Bike course will take place between UVAS and the Almaden Lake Park. The Almaden Lake Park will also hold the T2 run course and will be the finish line for the event. Individuals and teams can register until June 21, 2012. The race will be followed by an expo and a party of "epic proportions" with Live Music and Gourmet food according to the organizers!
